Sailing Holidays in Amorgos

Amorgos is a remarkably unspoiled island at the south-eastern edge of the Cyclades group, where traditional customs are still inextricably interwoven into a landscape as rich in beauty as in its history.

It is one of the most impressive Cycladic islands, boasting marvelous beaches with azure waters, gorgeous caves, and ideal spots for diving, scenic bays and ancient footpaths leading through its steep rocky terrain.

The dramatic mountain scenery provides a fine backdrop to some excellent walking. Meadows and areas for cultivation can be found in the area of Aegiali in the north, in Katapola at the center, and at Arkesini the southern part of the island.

There are two ports in the island: Katapola and Aegiali, where ferries, catamaran and hydrofoils call, connect Amorgos with other islands and the main land. Inhabited since the Protocycladic Era, as indicated by archaeological finds brought to light in the area, Amorgos has a long cultural history and tradition.
